Background
About Bidhan Chandra
With multi-country professional work experience, I am a principal consultant/trainer and serve clients based mainly in North America, Europe, and India. I utilize my multi-domain business, technical, and intercultural knowledge and experience to design and deliver customized and unique solutions to clients’ needs in the global work domain, both in the real and virtual modes. My key focus is on workplace cultural and behavioral aspects of geographically dispersed teams engaged in information technology, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, R&D, and other aspects of the business and knowledge processing industries. I assist clients’ team members in their mutual cultural adaptation process and in gaining effective intercultural communication knowledge and skills across time zone and physical distance barriers, and to build and sustain highly effective global teams. I have been involved in the intercultural consulting/training business for over two decades. Over this time, I have developed and conducted a wide range of consulting projects and training programs in different formats, including face-to-face, blended, and purely e-earning. In 2004, I had designed, managed, and trained in a ten-day-long “India Global Immersion Program” on-site learning experience in India for 22 senior-level executives of Advanced Micro Devices, a prominent American multinational technology company. This and my other India-related work was highlighted in a dedicated front-page story in the Marketplace section of The Wall Street Journal in 2004. My book chapter titled “Diversity in India” was published in “Global Diversity: Winning Customers and Employees within World Markets” by Nicholas Brealy International in 2007. Clients for whom I have consulted for or provided cross-cultural and other corporate training to include a wide range of Fortune 500 companies. To this end, I have worked with organizations in India, UK, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Greece, Lebanon, Mexico, Singapore, and South Africa. I am also an expert in e-learning solutions and has created several asynchronous global classrooms bringing together business students and corporate managers from several countries together to build cross-cultural teams and manage projects in the virtual space.
