About Biftu Geda

I am a nurse by profession with postgraduate training in adult health nursing. I have over 26 years of demonstrable experiences in clinical and public health on a range of areas from district level health management with grass root skill in managing health programmes to training and producing high level health professional at under and post graduate levels. I have extensive experience in provision of community health services with special focus on control, prevention and management of communicable diseases including malaria, TB/HIV and EPI target diseases. I am currently a lecturer at Haramaya University College of Health Sciences in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. My audiences include health science students of all categories. And also I was dean of health Sciences College and director of nursing and ambulatory care at University hospital and I am president of branch nursing association. Currently, I am PhD fellow. I have sound and practical experiences in coordinating trainings and EPI programs at all levels. In addition I also participated in community based training programs assisting students at field work and supervise in clinical setting while they are participating in health service activities. Gave service as a temporary Consultant on International training in malaria control programme and participate on malaria surveillance. Have been participated on training and mentoring hospital nurses on nursing standard since 2009.
