About Bil Silliker

In 6th grade shop class as the other boys were hammering nails into their bird houses I was still drawing mine, taking careful notes and making sure that every measurement was precise, every detail considered. My shop teacher came over and looked down at what I was doing and said "Kid, you're going to be a drafter". I didn't know what that meant but it piqued my interest and I've pursued it ever since. Traditionally trained in drafting, I spent 5 years on the board before the world made the big change to CAD in the early 1980's. I started using AutoCAD in 1987 and have spent the last 30 plus years using myriad CAD and CAD related tools, not only for designing better bird houses but for updating air traffic control, security within the financial industry, design of cell tower sites for the wireless world we live in, tracking the build out of a fiber optic based broad band system in the greater Boston area and most recently the coordination of mechanical systems in more than 40 construction projects throughout New England.
