About Bilge Kacmaz

As I approach the completion of my PhD in Aerospace Engineering, my journey has been defined by a passion for advancing aviation technology and a commitment to innovative research. My doctoral research focuses on the simulation and optimization of electric aircraft, including real-time trajectory optimization and the development of advanced flight control laws. In addition to my research, I have served as a Teaching Assistant at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), where I've had the opportunity to teach a variety of aerospace modules such as aerospace structures, flight control, optimization, control system analysis and design, and simulation. This experience has honed my ability to convey complex concepts and foster a deeper understanding of aerospace engineering principles among students. With over four years of professional experience in the aerospace sector, I currently contribute as a Research Engineer at Pulsar Fusion, where I apply my expertise in Electric Propulsion, Rocket Propulsion, and Fusion Propulsion. My role involves pushing the boundaries of propulsion technology through rigorous research and development. At University College London (UCL), my role as a Research Assistant has been centered around meticulous data analysis and advancing cutting-edge research. My background in system engineering has equipped me with a strong foundation in multidisciplinary collaboration and system integration, enhancing my ability to manage complex projects and drive innovation. Additionally, my experience as a VP of Science and Engineering has further refined my project management skills and strategic thinking. I am adept at navigating interdisciplinary challenges and leveraging my diverse expertise to achieve impactful results. I am enthusiastic about the future of aerospace engineering and committed to contributing to advancements in the field through research, teaching, and practical application.
