About Bill Baquerizo

I’ve spent the last 15 years building software that solves real problems and creates real business value. I love turning ideas into clean, reliable code that powers high-impact web applications. Every project reminds me why I chose this field. At UnitedHealth Group, I led a team that improved backend healthcare systems using Java 21 and Spring Boot. I developed new features that boosted performance by more than 30% and improved the experience for users across multiple platforms. Later at Zayo Group, I led a major project focused on a fiber optics data delivery system built with Microservices and Kafka. The solution made the platform more scalable and simplified daily operations. Earlier in my career at UBS and JPMorgan Chase, I enjoyed mentoring junior engineers and teaching best practices in API security and integration. At UBS, I led a team of ten developers to build a new microservices architecture that set a higher standard for speed and efficiency. When I’m not coding, I’m usually exploring new technologies or contributing to open-source projects. I believe in lifelong learning and enjoy connecting with people who share that mindset.
