About Bill Bursik

I have been in the machining business since 1969 where I started in the business by accident while living in Houston, Texas. Since then I worked in various aspects of the industry in Texas, Michigan and then ending-up in Southern California. I went to work for Machinery Sales Company in LA in 1980 and went on to spend 31 years with the company ending up as Vice President.I retired in October of 2011 and moved to a home on a lake in Alabama. After about 3 months of retirement, I was offered a position with Ganesh Machinery as SE Regional Sales Manager and I then decided that I wasn't really ready to retire yet. The challenge of getting sales going in the Southeast intrigued me and I did this for 3 years and that was enough. Too much travel!I had 3 years of living in Alabama and decided that this wasn't a fit either so we decided to move further south to get out of the south. We moved to the Tampa Florida area and I retired again. This time it lasted for 14 months.I started getting itchy again so I talked to an old friend that I worked with in California who had moved to Florida years before and had started his own business selling used equipment. I started in September of 2016 working strictly from my home office conducting sales over the phone and the internet. It has proven to be a very interesting means of making some extra income to enhance our retirement. The fact that I don't have to travel and I can keep my mind active, makes for the perfect part time retirement job.I get the opportunity to continue dealing with my contacts from over 40 years in the business plus I get to get to know new people every day from all over the country. Once this industry gets in your blood, it's hard to walk away from it.
