About Bill Deuterman

Throughout my 15 years as the Director of Information Technology, I have been responsible for the inception, planning, coordinating, budgeting, and implementation of numerous projects within the firm. These projects have included, but are not limited to, the opening of 5 geographically different offices, a migration from the single server model to VMWare virtual machine hosting, and eventually moving to a complete Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) architecture utilizing Amazon Web Services. In the course of working on these major projects, as well as resolving day to day problems, I have learned that the most cost effective solution is identifying and fixing the root cause. My philosophy is that it’s better to spend the time and money to research the issue, plan an effective resolution, methodically implement the agreed upon plan, and finally to meticulously document the process rather than continually band-aid the problem. Developing a solid solution to a problem not only makes the end users more productive, but increases their morale by allowing them to complete their daily tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible. This philosophy seamlessly flows into future projects, and assists in avoiding potential pitfalls and roadblocks that can lead to employee frustration, lost productivity, and a lack of trust in the company. Throughout my career I have worked on teams dedicated to supporting specific business units and applications, as well as being the sole provider of technical ideas and directions. Although I’ve had success in both situations, I believe that I thrive in an environment where I can draw upon my years of broad experience to direct and manage others based on their core competencies.
