About Bill Kemp

Bill Kemp retired in November 2022 from the Energy & Infrastructure practice of Roland Berger, the largest global strategy consultancy not headquartered in the U.S. He is still contributing to the team as a Senior Advisor. The Energy & Infrastructure practice leverages Roland Berger's deep resources and advanced manufacturing and process industry capabilities to provide innovative, tangible, scalable solutions to the multi-sectoral challenges of the energy transition. Bill is also now serving clients as Managing Director of K3 Strategies, LLC, a boutique energy and healthcare strategy consultancy. For more than 30 years, Bill has delivered solutions to Energy and Infrastructure industry clients around the world on critical strategy, operations, regulatory and technology issues. He has directed over 600 consulting projects in the areas of strategic planning, strategy implementation, sustainability, regulatory strategy, M&A, technology and market economics, marketing and trading, competitive positioning, re-engineering/cost management and litigation support. He previously served as a founding partner of Enovation Partners, a respected Energy industry strategy consultancy. Prior to that, he led Economists.com, a strategic/financial consultancy to the utility industry, and the Strategy and Sustainability consulting practice for Black & Veatch. He was a key contributor to the growth of Deloitte's Energy and Resources consulting business, ultimately rising to become one of three managing partners for their worldwide practice. Bill has served in various leadership positions in the International Association for Energy Economics. He speaks and contributes frequently to industry groups such as Edison Electric Institute, Western Energy Institute, International Gas Union, American Gas Association, and others. He earned a B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard University and a Master of Public Policy from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. Bill is also an active long-time member of the Sierra Club and the Environmental Law and Policy Center.
