About Bill Longenecker

Bill Longenecker is a photographer based in Annapolis, Maryland and travels throughout the greater Washington, DC area. Although currently a photography student with the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, he has been shooting photos for well over 30 years. Bill discovered a love for photography while enrolled in a High School photography class. He spent countless hours loading his own rolls of black and white film, developing the negatives, and processing his own prints over the next several years. Even after Bill joined the US Air Force, he continued to pursue this passion as a high-level hobby enthusiast, constantly refining his art and craft in photography. Good fortune placed Bill in Europe for 15 years of his military career, which was followed by 6 years in Hawai’i. While overseas, he assembled an impressive collection of images that capture the spirit of the world, its people and their cultures. In Hawai'i, he became a certified Divemaster and Master Diver and earned certification in underwater photography. Bill carefully composes his shots to reflect the subtle nuances of his subjects. In doing so he often captures elements that are overlooked by the casual observer. Bill's background as a mid-level manager in the Department of Defense (DoD), coupled with his extensive experience as program manager in telecommunications, provides him the hands-on experience to develop an excellent understanding of digital technology, time-management skills, and the ability to successfully multitask. Skills that lend themselves well to owning and operating an independent photography business.
