About Bill Meyer

Adept at leading people to create something new or deal with something difficult is how people who have worked with me would describe their experience. I am a business leader, entrepreneur and lawyer with keen understanding of both eCommerce and traditional professional services. I took an eCommerce platform marketplace from concept to operation to disrupt a traditional retail market. Before my entrepreneurial journey, I spent over 20 years in prominent national law firms, including as a general business lawyer and outside general counsel covering a wide range of legal, business and operational responsibilities. I am an expert in business planning, finance, operations, technology, human resources, marketing, risk management and security, organizational and legal oversight. I carry enough personal humility to ask the right questions about the universe of what I don’t know, and with the support of an inspired team, get to the right answer. I have gained political savvy from eight years’ elected official experience in local government serving high demand constituents in the Village of Lake Bluff, and have been part of a leadership team that maintained a Moody’s Aaa credit rating despite the numerous challenges including pension obligations. Being an entrepreneur, I have the bug for risk and adventure, and the optimism and endurance to embark on transformative new projects. Personal interests include overcoming the inexorable force of gravity by flying airplanes, overcoming the inexorable force of the uninformed by participating in politics, and most importantly tending to the moral and ethical formation and changing preferences of a son and daughter who redefine teenager every day.
