About Bill Sheppard

Started out as a live performer with local acts in Orange County, CA as a tenor sax player/back up vocalist in surf bands (Denny Correl - US gospel vocalist of the year 1978) was one of our front-men. Was picked up by "The Fabs" as lead vocalist, which morphed and merged into "Stack". Signed with Columbia Records in 1968. Played live dates with: Alice Cooper (the band not the guy), Illinois Speed Press, Frank Zappa and the Mothers, Blues Image, The New Yardbirds (Led Zeplin), Iron Butterfly, Jimi Hendrix-Buddy Miles, and many more. Stack was represented by the William Morris Agency and managed by Mike Pinizzoto (Birtha), Joe Taylor (Who), Bill Robertson (owner of Marina Palace, Seal Beach, CA), and Clancy B Grass (Johnny "Guitar" Watson). Did over hours in the studio as a song writer and lead vocalist with many great engineer/producers - Doug Sachs (Mastering Lab), Roger Dollarhyde (Sunwest Studios), Jim Messina, Bob Stone (Zappa), Gary Dalton (Billy Joel), Larry Brown (Stephen Bishop), Cub Richardson (Guess Who), John St. James (Stacy Q, Berlin) Karl Moet (Stacey Q), Dan Van Patten (Berlin), Charles Ramirez (Casbah Studios), Larry Carlton, Allan Holdsworth, Skip Conte (3 Dog Night), etc. Began MI/Pro Audio sales and marketing career in 1980 with Whittier Music Company. Was personal sales liason to: The Bangles, Stryper, Los Lobos, Wall of Voodoo, Stacey Q, Berlin, The Righteous Brothers, Oingo Boingo, and many others since. Was employed by - West LA Music, Jim's Music, Whittier Music, Future Sound, Filament Pro Audio and others. Am presently the CFO/Owner of MG Audio Sales - Northern American distributor for Mad Professor Amplification of Finland and loving it!
