Let's rewind to 1980, when I, as an eager apprentice in Lismore, was just dipping my toes into the vast ocean of the trade. Under the watchful eyes of some of the finest technicians I've ever had the pleasure of working for and with, I gained my first lessons, carving the foundation of the journey that lay ahead. Then, there was Sydney - the city of dreams. I spent five phenomenal years working on some of the most iconic buildings that this metropolis has to offer - the Opera House, Centrepoint Tower, enormous cinema complexes, the extensive underground rail network, and countless skyscrapers that seem to kiss the sky. These experiences, which were a far cry from my humble beginnings in Lismore, shaped me and my understanding of the trade in ways I could never have imagined. Returning to my roots, I kick-started Frigid Air in my Lismore garage. Over the course of a decade, I built it from the ground up to become a key player in the northern rivers region. After ten years of successes and valuable experiences, I sold Frigid Air and stepped into the world of wholesaling with Actrol Parts. My 2.5-year stint with Actrol offered me a unique perspective of the trade, an understanding that I rely upon every single day. Then came 2002, the birth year of Cool-a-bah Cooling, based in Tweed Heads. From then to now, Cool-a-bah Cooling has become a beacon of quality in air conditioning and refrigeration. From Surfers Paradise to Byron Bay, we serve clients daily, ensuring their needs are met with the utmost professionalism and dedication. Today, Cool-a-bah Cooling is a family of more than 30 committed individuals, all driven by a shared commitment to superior workmanship, first-rate products, and unbeatable after-sales support. My journey from a small-town apprentice to the founder of a leading regional enterprise has been nothing short of an exhilarating roller-coaster ride. From Lismore to Sydney, and then back to the idyllic setting of Tweed Heads, every twist and turn has been integral in shaping me into the professional I am today - a lifelong learner of the trade, a leader, and a believer in the power of hard work and dedication. And why do I do it all? Simple: I love what I do. Most of my days at work are filled with pure enjoyment. For my team and me, the most satisfying projects are those where we overcome challenges for clients that others couldn't. The joy derived from navigating complexities and delivering solutions is unmatched. It's the reason we strive for excellence every single day.
