About Bill Unkles
I am currently employed teaching legal studies at RMIT in the Land Law, and Administrative Law, Legal Method, Evidence and Civil Procedure streams. I have also worked as a solicitor at Hassalls Litigation Service in Highett on a part time basis in 2018, as Corproate Counsel for Philip Norman and Associates and teaching and conveyancing law at Melbourne Polytechnic. Since 2018, I have volunteered as a lawyer at Darebin Legal Service and Fitzroy Legal Service mainly dealing with Cvil matters, in 2017 I volunteered for 6 months at the Refugee Legal Service. Prior to completing my legal studies, I was a Director and Principal Economist with Saturn Corporate Resources Pty Ltd mainly focussed on Urban and Regional Economics. In 2016, I spent a year in Saudi Arabia working as an Urban Management Expert for the Ar-Riyadh Development Authority as part of a Worley Parsons Middle East Group consultancy. Along with my colleagues in Saturn Corporate Resources, I have provided advice on a range of Climate Change, Infrastructure and Planning issues. Studies included: the estimation of the Greenhouse Gas Regulatory Impact Studies, and studies concerning inter alia the impact of a restricting Heavy Vehicles travelling through Ryrie Street in Central Geelong, Tourism Development and Land Use. I have also completed a range of IT systems feasibility evaluations for major organisations. I have supported numerous Urban Design and Planning projects with economic analysis. These projects included: the Australia Design Award winning Coastal Towns study for East Gippsland and Wellington Shires, the Bayside Coastal Management Plan, the Dubai Urban Development Framework.
