I have a broad sense of environmental assessment and investigation techniques used to investigate conditions and to evaluate environmental liabilities. Clients include lending institutions, real estate investment trusts, industrial manufacturing facilities, developers, private and foreign investors, and government agencies. I have reviewed current and historical documentation on industrial facilities in data rooms (both hard copy and virtual electronic data rooms) for several merger and accusations projects in which environmental documentation is reviewed to identify environmental concerns and to estimate potential financial responsibilities (possible remedial costs) prior to the client’s acquisition or investment into into properties. Phase II ESAs have included the detailed delineations of subsurface impacts (both lateral and vertical) as a result of releases of hazardous substances or petroleum products for the design and evaluation of remedial options. I have conducted numerous compliance audits of environmental regulated activities such as RCRA hazardous waste, treatment storage and disposal facilities (TSDFs), wastewater treatment ponds, NPDES permits (discharges to surface water), air emissions, USTs, SARA Title notifications, and industrial wastewater discharges to local POTWs to identify and evaluate compliance status with permits and/or Federal, State, or local environmental regulations.
