About Billy Battles

I am a cybersecurity engineer and software developer specializing in defense technology solutions. As a Summa Cum Laude graduate from George Mason University with a BS in Cyber Security Engineering, I bring technical expertise to mission-critical security challenges. My professional journey began during my undergraduate studies, where I developed a passion for cybersecurity that led to foundational experiences with the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), U.S. Cyber Command, Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC), and the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI). Currently, I am an Associate Developer with Colvin Run Networks designing chaos engineering solutions for AWS cloud environments supporting U.S. Navy operations while also developing comprehensive ETL architecture for U.S. Air Force acquisition processes. My work involves orchestrating controlled disruptions within Kubernetes clusters and implementing penetration testing methodologies to strengthen defense systems against sophisticated cyber threats. My research contributions include developing the Cyber AI Relevance (CAIR) Framework, resulting in published within GMU's catalog. I maintain a multidisciplinary approach to security, connecting technical implementation with policy and governance considerations. I remain committed to strengthening digital infrastructure against evolving threats through innovative security engineering, AI implementation, and cross-functional collaboration.
