I spent one year as the front desk manager at Fitness Works. My job duties consisted of greeting members, solving issues related to memberships, hiring front desk staff, and scheduling front desk staff. I learned valuable skills in problem solving, communication and multi-tasking. I then spent 5 years as a pharmacy technician at OnePoint Patient Care. My job duties consisted of filling and compounding extemporaneous preparations, data entry, handling prior authorizations, ordering inventory, and operating a SP200 automated dispensing machine. I learned valuable skills in coordination, self-motivation and task-orientation. The next two years I spent as a pharmacy technician at Ironwood Cancer and Research Centers. My job duties consisted of preparing sterile and non-sterile IV preparations in accordance with USP 797, ordering inventory, and coordinating workflow with other staff. I learned valuable skills in time-management, coordination, and multi-tasking. I have spent the last year as an instructor of the pharmacy technician program at Pima Medical Institute. My job duties consisted of instructing pharmacy technicians in training, assisting with the creation of curriculum, adhering to ABHES and ASHP standards, certifying students in the NPTA’s Sterile IV course, and preparing students for completion of the PTCE. I learned valuable skills in critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership.
