About Billy Dardis

Olympian and former Captain of the Irish Rugby 7s team, now working at the intersection of private markets, sport, and performance - with over a decade of experience in high-performance environments, on and off the pitch. I had the privilege of captaining Ireland’s first-ever rugby team at the Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020), leading the squad to a bronze medal at the 2022 Rugby Sevens World Cup and a Challenge Trophy at the 2018 Rugby Sevens World Cup in San Francisco, as well as HSBC World Series qualification in 2019. Currently Head of Partnerships at TritonLake, a private markets placement agent that connects global investors with differentiated alternative investment opportunities. My role spans relationship development, go-to-market strategy, and operational execution - collaborating with legal firms, fund administrators, and marketing partners to help position fund managers for successful capital formation. I also serve as Vice Chair of the Olympic Federation of Ireland Athletes’ Commission and as a Board Member of the Rugby Players Ireland Foundation, supporting athletes and their families through key transitions. I’m an active ambassador for several mental health and youth development initiatives, including ISPCC Childline, Tackle Your Feelings, and Dare to Believe. Academic background includes a BSc in Health & Performance Science (UCD), a Diploma in Finance (Griffith College), and an MSc in Management Consultancy (UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School). With a growing interest in the convergence of sport, private markets, and long-term impact, I’m exploring ways to blend purpose and capital to create meaningful opportunities for athletes and investors alike. Most recently, I launched The Ireland Sports Fund - a new scholarship fund supporting professional rugby players in Ireland through education and career development. Built under the Rugby Players Ireland Foundation, the Fund is designed to empower athletes’ success beyond sport by removing financial barriers and promoting readiness for life after rugby. It’s a passion project and a legacy I hope to leave in rugby - a way to give back to the game that shaped me and support players long after the final whistle.
