About Billy Gao

Hi! I am an undergrad in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University.Outside my studies, I am part of the leadership at Stanford Blockchain. My interests include but are not limited to building projects, DAO governance, crypto ventures, DeFi, and technical research. I work with Entropy and TA at Stanford Law School on DAO governance, and with Hailstone/Velocity on crypto investment and project development. I am also involved in research projects at Stanford Blockchain and contribute as an editor for the Stanford Blockchain Review.In addition, I am a robotics and linguistics researcher at Stanford. My robotics research focuses on motion planning with machine learning and manipulative controls, while in linguistics, I study bilingual codeswitching using transformer models.I am the co-founder of Melo USA, an organization focused on social entrepreneurship and youth development, originally started in Hong Kong. I am also passionate about education inequality and supporting children with special education needs, which I pursue through initiatives with Save the Children.I am passionate in building and investments. I have worked with with several capital funds across the US, Hong Kong, and China and have developed a range of projects including but not only limited to the fields of AI and blockchain.I am always open to connecting and chatting—let’s talk more!
