About Bindu Malkan

I am a family law solicitor, with over 17 years post-qualification experience, assisting clients with a range of issues following relationship breakdown: divorce/separation, cohabitation disputes, domestic violence, children and division of financial resources. I also assist with pre/post nuptial, cohabitation and separation agreements. I am able to understand the needs of my clients and the importance of constructive and cost-effective advice. I have particular experience in high net worth matters. I am a Resolution trained Collaborative Lawyer and Family Mediator and encourage out of court, practical solutions where possible but if not, will firmly guide clients through the court process. I report on various family law issues and my article on Shared Parenting, published in Family Law Week, can be found here: I also contributed to a shared parenting podcast on CPDcasts. I appeared on Zee Companion, a live Asian Q&A TV show, providing guidance to viewers on family matters. Outside of work, I am a supporter of the good work that charities do. I am currently working for Age UK as a Befriender. I have taken part in several running events and undertook a Sky Dive for the Southampton Hospital Charity raising funds for the elderly care wards. I was also a Time 4 You volunteer at Southampton General Hospital, spending time with elderly patients that did not have visitors and a NHS responder volunteer (during Covid).
