About Bineesh Mathai

I help organisations mobilise global capital to drive education systems change, moving from well-run programmes to institutions that scale, influence policy, and endure. With 20 + years of leadership across fundraising, partnerships, and resource mobilisation, I have built and led multi-market fundraising portfolios spanning India, Europe, the UK, and global philanthropy ecosystems. My work sits at the intersection of strategy, evidence, and trust-based donor relationships.I currently serve as Director – Purpose & Resource Mobilisation at Educate Girls, one of India’s most recognised education nonprofits. I lead global fundraising strategy across foundations, corporates, HNIs, and institutional donors, supporting a long-term vision to reach millions of learners through government partnership, data-driven delivery, and system-level reform.A significant part of my work today focuses on adolescent girls and young women, designing and funding second-chance education pathways for those who missed formal schooling, and addressing one of the largest education equity gaps globally. • Building and stewarding multi-year, multi-million-dollar global donor portfolios • Partnering with philanthropic foundations, multilaterals, and impact-first capital • Translating complex, evidence-heavy programmes into board- and donor-ready narratives • Leading and mentoring high-performing fundraising teams across geographies • Supporting organisations as they shift from project funding to platform and system financing
