About Bingyan Liu
I graduated with dual master degrees, environmental engineering and civil engineering. I was actively engaged in a number of research and industrial projects in water and wastewater treatment and hydraulics simulation/design. These projects, funded by US Department of Defense and a number of industrial partners, include optimization of treatment system, modeling open channel and pipeline hydraulics, process analysis of decentralized biological wastewater treatment facilities, design of water treatment plants, evaluation of refinery wastewater treatability, and investigation of anaerobic digestion with industrial waste streams. Working as a research assistant in a dynamic research group, I was familiar with the vendors in water and wastewater engineering industries, had hand-on experiences, and understand the resources required for solving real-world treatment problems. I also had experiences as field engineer in water, wastewater and soil sampling & analysis, hazardous waste management & remediation, oversight of infrastructure construction project.
