As a visionary leader in gene therapy research, I've been instrumental in advancing therapies for rare diseases. My expertise lies in optimizing AAV delivery, conducting validation studies, and overseeing in vivo efficacy and biodistribution research across both rodent and large animal models. I've also led efforts in assay development and qualification, along with coordinating non-GLP safety studies. One of my notable innovations, centered around CD59 and autoimmune uveitis technology, has been licensed to Janssen, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. Additionally, my work on pioneering novel AAV capsids has catalyzed the establishment of a startup biotech company devoted to advancing this technology. In my current role as Director of Pharmacology and Biomarkers, I'm spearheading the development of small molecules for rare diseases and leading preclinical development efforts.
