About Binny Grainger

Serving the vulnerable community and preserving their dignity has been my passion for years. My extensive experience in handling crisis and emergency situations has developed in me the ability to handle a variety of working environments with ease. It has also provided for fulfilling my passion to help train and mentor colleagues and those working under my leadership, achieve their fullest potential. At the beginning of began my career with International Justice Mission (IJM), I was involved in most of the infrastructure building and initial effort that went into setting up the office, interviewing candidates, recruiting and laying the foundation. Over the years I rose to lead the investigations team and was Acting Director of Investigations for five years. Throughout my eight years with IJM I have conducted investigations into violations of the Bonded Labour Act, participated in numerous rescue operations, developed budgets for the project, organized baseline surveys, partnered with other similar NGOs and worked closely with the government to bring about rescue and rehabilitation to victims of social injustice. The environment in which I worked was often fast-paced and required the ability to think quickly and make independent decisions. It has also given me the experience of working cohesively with people of varied nationalities and from diverse cultural backgrounds. My experience includes counseling clients, building rapport at a professional level, training and building teams. I would like to continue to make a positive impact in my community, while also helping those I work with grow as I provide leadership and guidance. My Masters in Social Work, combined with my work experience provides a working knowledge of how to effectively analyze cases, conduct research, ensure proper follow-up, conduct briefings, coordinate response, hire new staff, provide mentorship and successfully complete other tasks necessary to being an effective team player and a leader.
