About Birgit Kahler

After finishing my studies in in near eastern archaeology, I did a degree in Journalism and then wrote articles on archaeological and cultural subjects. In 2010 I became cofounder of FabLab - München e.V. with conceptual focus on education. Since 2012 I work as Fablab educator in different schools, integrating 3D printing, electronics, programming into the curriculum of different subjects. For FabLab München e.V. I am responsable for any kind of funding, public relations and organising courses in FabLab - cooperations with schools, external partners, workshops for adults, children even during vacations. I'm always looking for open minded people that want to do courses at fablab. programming, Raspberry Pi, Scratch, Arduino, anything to do with coding, 3D modelling and printing, lasercutting, experience with kids and groups of teens. I also work in different Erasmus plus KA2 Strategic Partnership in the School sector "Make in Class" for secondary schools,"STEAM-H" for primary school and "MakeMyFuture" for vocational training with different partners from Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland, Malta and Irland. We also cooperate with Pädagogische Institut / Referat für Bildung und Sport in order to get Making and Coding into schools.
