After several years as a Disability Support Worker and Accommodation Team Leader I moved into Corporate Services in 2020.I was the APO (Authorised Program Officer) for Bayley House. I managed our Behaviour Support Plans and was responsible for the monthly reporting of Restrictive Practices to the NDIS Q&S Commission, as well as alerted the Commission to any unauthorised RPs as and when they were used. I followed up with all stakeholders when BSPs were due for review/renewal and facilitated communication, organised meetings, etc. to ensure the plans were up-to-date and relevant.I responded to enquiries from staff regarding Restrictive Practices and communicated with a variety of internal and external parties to ensure quality and compliance in everything we did.I maintained our Internal Incident Register, so was up-to-date with any Incidents when they occurred and could help facilitate follow-up actions.I also maintained a Medication Register for all our participants (Day Service, Short Stay and Residential), so that appropriate measures could be taken if chemical restraint was prescribed. I also conducted regular medication audits in all our residences as well as the Day Service to ensure Best Practice was adhered to in our day-to-day operations.
