About Birita Ojala

I am passionate about meeting new people, expanding my knowledge, and sharing experiences. I am always eager to assist others and enthusiastic about participating in new projects. I also enjoy public speaking, presenting, and debating. Currently, I work as a Senior Inspector at the ELY Centre. Additionally, I volunteer as the Treasurer for Puutarha-agronomit ry and for our football team, Kuopion ELO Naisten 3 edustus. I hold a Master of Science degree in Agriculture and Forestry from the University of Helsinki, which I obtained in 2021. My major was in Plant Production Sciences and Horticultural Sciences, with extensive coursework in Forestry and Landscaping. My master's thesis focused on the effects of post-harvest light treatments on American cranberries (Vaccinium macrocarpon). I investigated how different light treatments influenced the quality of the berries, particularly their phenol and anthocyanin content. This research was conducted in the fall of 2020.
