About Birkan Isik

I find myself at an exciting crossroads where technology meets innovation, particularly in the realm of mechatronics engineering and product management. Currently, I’m immersed in supporting the product management team at Siemens in Prague, where I focus on the Sinamics S210 drive system and motion control solutions. My academic journey as a PhD researcher at Czech Technical University has been equally rewarding. Over the past two years, I’ve published 10 academic papers exploring advanced maintenance strategies and predictive models that align with Industry 4.0 principles. Sharing this knowledge through lectures to around 60 students across 5 semesters has been a fulfilling way to inspire the next generation of engineers. Before my current roles, I honed my skills as a Senior Project and Sales Engineer at Kaeser Compressor, where I managed key customer projects from start to finish. My efforts led to maintaining high customer satisfaction levels throughout project lifecycles. Additionally, conducting over 400 face-to-face customer visits annually helped me forge strong relationships that contributed to a 25% growth in our strategic customer base. Reflecting on my earlier experiences, I conducted energy audits that resulted in a remarkable 20% reduction in energy consumption across various facilities while working with KAESER Compressor. This hands-on experience not only sharpened my technical skills but also ignited my passion for sustainable engineering practices. Outside of work and research, I enjoy collaborating on projects that blend technology with real-world applications. Whether it's engaging with students or participating in community initiatives, I believe in the power of teamwork and continuous learning.
