About Blain Armstrong

In April I came to Japan to teach English. My goal then was to spend a few years learning the language and culture, then go back to Canada to study international business law. But as John Lennon once said, life is what happens to you when you’re busy making other plans. A few years later, I used Flash to make a hangman game for my junior high students. It was crude and ugly, but it worked. More importantly, the kids loved it. From there, I was hooked; I started making more games, then some web applications, including one for a business that did cognitive therapy for children with learning disabilities. I then realized that this was what I was meant to do. I eventually joined GPlus Media, where I’ve been building back-end systems. I love being a part of a company that gives me a chance to help people who want to work, study, and travel in Japan. Outside of that, I like listening to all kinds of music, from Led Zeppelin to Weather Report to Slayer. I also like cooking and playing backgammon.
