About Blain Barton

Raised in Spokane Washington, Blain has been with Microsoft for 31 years and has held many diverse positions within the company. He currently works on Agile "code-with" projects within Microsoft Industry Solutions Engineering Division as a Senior Business Program Manager working with Microsoft's Enterprise Customers and Developers in the US Government space. Blain's career started in 1988 as a Team Leader in Manufacturing and Distribution, then accepted a role as Product Support Team Manager for Visual Basic development teams for "Rawhide" and "Thunder" Code projects. Blain spent 7 years as a Product Development Consultant in the Microsoft Word Division and spent many years as an OEM Systems Engineer for System Builders. Blain served as a Senior Technical Evangelist\Developer working on IoT devices and sensors that integrate with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services and Edge. In his past, Blain has organized and delivered a wide array of technical events and has presented over 1500 live events and has received over six “top presenter” speaking awards. He has traveled around the world delivering OEM training sessions on pre-installing Microsoft Windows on new PC’s. He attended Washington State University graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English/Business with a Minor in Computer Science and was a professional snow skier in the Cascade Mountains before starting his career with Microsoft. Blain currently resides in Lahaina Maui Hawaii.
