About Blaine Samson

Hello! I'm a rising second-year J.D. candidate at UCLA School of Law, specializing in Critical Race Studies as a Glazer Scholar. Originally from Southern California, I've happily returned home after earning my B.A. in Philosophy and Social Policy Analysis from Rice University, with minors in Sociology and Politics, Law & Social Thought. I’m especially passionate about education equity and systemic reform—work I’m pursuing through UCLA Law's El Centro Pro Bono Program and Disability Student Union. An inaugural member of the Stanford Law Scholars Institute, I strongly believe in the power of mentorship and aspire to be a resource for other first-generation and underrepresented students navigating law and higher education. I look forward to continuing to foster community in UCLA Law's Black Law Student Association as Alumni Relations Chair—and also as Recruitment Chair for our top ranking Mock Trial Team. I am excited to continue developing my advocacy and litigation skills, closing off on a truly enriching summer as a Law Clerk at the Disability Rights Education Defense Fund.
