About Blair Bailey

Painting conservator with a masters degree in easel painting conservation and additional experience in murals and painted surfaces. My primary areas of paintings research and treatment are those from pre-1850 Southern European locations on wooden panel and canvas. Technical research interest focuses on the structural repair of paintings, particularly canvas supports, as well as novel adhesive formulation development. Due to this, I am well versed in canvas tear repair and a variety of lining methodologies including traditional and modern techniques, as well as hybrid custom processes. My hand skills also extend to the structural repair of wooden panels. I am a current, peer reviewed, Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation and uphold their Code of Ethics in my conservation work.
