About Blair Jones

Ever since I was young, cars have been my passion. I remember always helping my dad work on our cars at home, and loving being able to work with my hands on something that was so cool. I love the sounds the engine made, and the sense of achievement I felt after making a car work again. As I got older, I became more and more amazed at how these machines worked, and it fueled my engineering brain. Throughout middle and high school, I started taking more classes and doing more projects that would bring me closer to answering all the questions I had about how things worked. From learning how a shutter physically works in a camera, to building a model roller coaster using science and math, I was insatiable and eager to keep learning.This led me to my studies at the University of Cincinnati, where I had every opportunity available that I could ever dream. I studied basic mechanical engineering principles, learned the basics of coding, and learned higher level mathematics. Most importantly, I joined the Bearcat Motorsports Racing team. This was a Formula SAE team intended to design, build, and race a formula style race car. Here I could truly put my passion for cars and engineering to the test. It was the best of both worlds, and I left knowing that I wanted so much more.So, now that I am working in the automotive industry as a mechanical engineer, I am continually learning new things, while continuing to pursue that same passion I have always had, for which I am very grateful.My specialties include learning new skills quickly, problem solving (root cause), communication, and working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects at once. I am skilled in Microsoft Office, MatLab, AutoCAD, LMS Teslab, Head Acoustics (Artemis), and Machining and Maintenance. I am always enthusiastic to learn new things and take on new challenges.
