About Blake Ansari

As a Global and Public Health Student at Cornell University, I am passionate about the intersection of research, advocacy, and community engagement. My academic journey, complemented by hands-on experience in scientific research, public service, and leadership, has fueled my commitment to driving meaningful change in healthcare, environmental science, and social equity. With a Minor in Biometry and Statistics, I leverage data-driven analysis to address public health challenges. My research background includes working at the American Museum of Natural History, where I contributed to digitizing collections using 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and coding. Additionally, through the MedDOCs program at Mount Sinai, I explored medical disciplines like neurology and pulmonology, strengthening my foundation in healthcare research. Beyond academics, I am deeply engaged in various ambassador programs. As a Cornell University Student Ambassador (CUDAA, CALS Ambassador, and BRAM), I support prospective and incoming students by providing guidance and insights about applying to College, specifically Cornell, and fostering important connections. My leadership roles extend back to high school, where I served as Student Council President, advocating for mental health initiatives and community-driven projects. Research & Advocacy: From environmental science research at Timbuctoo Climate Science Institute to advocating for increased funding for Adirondack parks, I am dedicated to sustainability and policy change. Filmmaking & Storytelling: As a Paid Filmmaker at Hook Arts Media, I captured narratives of marginalized communities, blending cinematography and social justice. Non-Profit Leadership: As the Founder of Blake Mini Library, I spearheaded a literacy initiative recognized by Michelle Obama, distributing books to foster and homeless shelters nationwide. Science & Technology: My work in coding, lidar scanning, and digital preservation at AMNH has deepened my technical expertise in museum research and STEM applications.
