About Blake Austensen

Welcome to my site! I have over 20 years experience in the field of training and employee development while excelling as a director of training for a national armored car company, a training officer in the military, an adjunct university professor, a public school teacher, and a current training specialist at a federal agency, In these roles, I have performed as a training manager, project manager, instructional designer, web course developer, learning management system administrator, and training specialist. Some of the training programs I have managed have included leadership and management, sales, safety, product, operations, software systems, policy, and customer service training. In addition to managing these programs, I also developed and delivered training to training participants ranging from entry level to senior management. I delivered these classes using a variety of methods including classroom training, web-based training, live virtual online classes, and self-led instructional training programs. I have knowledge of and real world experience practicing adult learning and implementing human performance improvement within the framework of the ADDIE and other related models. I also have used in my course design and trained people at the graduate level on the instructional systems design methodology that includes the entire spectrum from training needs assessment to training evaluation. Other areas where I have professional experience include employee development, executive coaching, career advising, and human resources.
