Background
About Blake Crosby
With over 20 years of hands-on experience in environmental services for transportation infrastructure, I currently lead the Environmental Services Group at Rodriguez Transportation Group (RTG). I’m a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), and a Registered Environmental Professional (REP). From early planning through construction, I support projects through every phase of environmental compliance, NEPA clearance, permitting, and coordination. I specialize in federal and state environmental regulations, Section 404 permitting, construction-phase compliance, and stormwater management. I’ve worked as an Environmental Scientist, Environmental Coordinator, Environmental Task Lead, and Environmental Project Manager on some of Texas’s most complex transportation projects, including numerous GEC, schematic/environmental, PS & E, and CEI contracts. Before joining consulting, I spent time at TxDOT’s Dallas District, where I held roles in both the Construction and Environmental sections. I began in the field, providing construction inspection and environmental compliance support, and later served as the District Environmental Quality Coordinator (DEQC), conducting SW3P audits and 404 Permit reviews, and helping shape statewide environmental procedures. I also supported high-profile projects like the signature Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. My career has always been rooted in a practical, solution-oriented mindset: real-world logistics and timing matter as much as technical accuracy. I work closely with contractors, designers, and agencies to ensure our projects meet the highest environmental and regulatory standards, without slowing delivery. That blend of design, field experience, permitting knowledge, law, and compliance expertise gives me a unique, holistic view of how environmental considerations influence infrastructure—and how we can make both work better together. If you're navigating planning, NEPA, permitting, or construction-phase environmental challenges, and want a leader who sees the full picture, I’m ready to help your team move forward efficiently, responsibly, and successfully.
