Background
About Blake Mickatavage
I'm a data professional bridging the gap between Engineering and CX. I leverage 6+ years of SQL and telemetry experience to identify root causes of escalated issues and uncover obscure workflows that lead to bugs. Repairing user-facing data and generating custom reports for internal and external audiences, I thrive in both production and warehouse databases. With a collaborative nature and an instinct to "dive deeper", I strive to use data to empower my colleagues. To date, I’ve documented bugs, executed hundreds of production data repairs, and created just as many custom reports. I’ve built automated reporting flows using SQL Server Agent and Power Automate, supported SSIS ETL packages, and recently expanded into Python via Jupyter Notebook to supplement my data wrangling. Currently, I'm most proud of my work on Project Montana. Following Schedulicity's acquisition by Vagaro, this project established the safe and stable migration of users between platforms. I took part in extensive data mapping, and during migration I supported our CX and Product teams by equipping them with the data they needed to ensure smooth transitions when our users were most vulnerable. I felt so rewarded to have such tangible contributions to the project. Outside of work, I was very active in Montana’s regional Esports scene during and following my studies at Montana State University. I spearheaded the state’s largest annual gaming events from 2012–2023, including the long-running 'Fall Brawl' fighting game series. These events drew 100–300 players and of online impressions, showcasing my passion for high-stakes logistics and community building.
