I serve as a Radar and Tower Technician maintaining all tower systems and interacting to resolve problems working in conjunction with Air Traffic Control. I work within the Radar Unit on installation, modification, maintenance and certification of radar systems and services such as ASR 8, ATCBI-5 and STARS ELITE. Additional responsibilities in the Communication, Navigation, Environmental, and Automation arena are also part of my workload. I install, modify, maintain and certify LLWAS, ETVS, BUEC, RCAG, CM200 TX/RX, CM300 TX/RX, MDR, GRR/GRT, RCE, RCO, RTR, RVR, TCE, TCVEX, AWSS, AWOS, AWOS-C, FDIOR, PAPI, VASI, SAWS, ATIS, DCBUS, WAAS/WRS, DALR, LDRCL and DIESEL ENGINE GENERATORS. I possess comprehensive knowledge of the National Airspace System (NAS) as an integrated system, of the relationship of the parts to the whole, and the capabilities within the NAS to deal with unusual problems or unanticipated air traffic safety issues. I maintain technical competency on legacy systems, and I have obtained the skills to install, integrate, maintain and restore new technologically advanced systems without supervision. I serve as the key technical point of contact for assigned systems, programs or projects. Collaborate with system users, planners, engineers, and contractor personnel for the acceptance of new or modified systems and provide assistance for resolving problems with the installation of improvements. I apply experience and detailed technical knowledge in planning, managing, and completing assignments in support of the NAS. I have broad automated systems and networking responsibility, providing end to end services to Air Traffic customers. I initiate actions to install, repair or restore systems and services on the availability of backup systems reconfiguration to minimize service interruptions and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the NAS. I have the experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility that demonstrates an extensive knowledge of and experience in technology system interrelationships, and management of civilian automated aviation, navigation and electronics systems.
