Life is simple. Business is simple. Yet it somehow gets complicated. Success is all about distilling the noise down to what really matters, what really makes an impact. And that’s why I prioritise key business drivers whether I am in a consultancy, board, or executive role. I dig down to the root cause of poor performance and identify those fundamental truths that are critical to knowing what a good day looks like, and unlocking profitability. Seeing the bigger picture is a gift because it helps me help others. That’s what I live for. I guide leaders in removing obstacles so that every member of the company – from the top down – can flourish. I work closely with open-minded CEOs ready to embrace change, coaching on communication and pivoting their focus so that their people can follow suit. If everyone’s on the same page, decision alignment comes naturally. Everyone wins. Improving people and processes requires effective management systems and the measurement of strategically selected KPIs. Big data is great; don’t get me wrong. But most businesses are overwhelmed by its potential. I shape the subtleties around what is measured, selecting insights that support sustainable, iterative growth and help organisations live their values. This is where my approachability and aptitude for simplification comes into play. Regardless of the area I am consulting on – cost reduction, productivity, customer experience, cultural and organisational change, project management, business analysis, performance management, or general management – I am a confident educator. I use storytelling techniques such as metaphors and analogies to get my message across to people at all levels. My knack for succinct and accurate communication probably stems from my time working on a tour bus giving directions. That was a lifetime ago now. Today, I still love to travel and learn, experience different cultures and different ways of life. I value transparency and sincerity and take genuine pride in what I do.
