Background

About Blayne Fox

Blayne Fox grew up camping, fishing, rock climbing, and bug collecting in the midwest woodlands of Missouri. Her fascination for the wild world induced an imagination of magical kingdoms and creatures, always cultivating new stories and worlds to accompany her adventures. Predominantly self-taught, Blayne wrote and illustrated stapled books for her librarians who encouraged her creativity through her younger years. Entering art school for two years in pursuit of visual narration, she ultimately left to pursue her career and within weeks garnered the attention of Baker & Hill where she illustrated concept art for Discovery Channel’s Shark Week and National Geographic Kid’s “Weird But True Facts”. Seeking representation, she was represented for 3+ years by Illustration Online LLC where from there she discovered her love for telling stories through her art. Working for Clients like Scholastic Education, Benchmark Publishing, Brown Books Publishing, and several self-published titles, she created award-winning picture books that are vivid, whimsical, and cinematic with her diverse camera angles and even more diverse subject matter. Now she is excited to create her own stories showcasing this style and illustrating her own manuscripts. Upon moving to Seattle and being so close to the entertainment industry, her direct observation of some of the best concept artists has made her realize a fascination in 2D Concept Art that her cinematic style seems to cater to even better. Eager to learn more, her mind is open to possibilities in other industry roles in visual development that this exact passion for keyframe art and mood revolves around.
