I have worked in the blown film industry for the past 34 years. 8 years in Quality Control Implementation, 15 years in Production Management, 10 years in Product Development and Projects Management. My current position is now Director of Operations and have been in that role since April of 2022. For my tenor of Production Management position I was responsible for the Edmonton Extrusion operation which included 64 production staff, all aspects of HR, production scheduling, shift scheduling, raw material purchasing & management, overseeing new equipment purchase, responsible for new production line layouts, warehouse consolidation projects, and multiple large project management duties. In this position my last achievement was the successful installation and launch of a 3.5 Million dollar multiple layer Co-Extrusion production line. During my position of Product Development / Special Projects Manager I was responsible for the Canadian Facility but worked closely to assist 2 other US facilities for product development / technical needs. My responsibilities included all new product development, new product launches, new and existing product blend formulations and structures, new raw material testing, new internal product trials, attending product trials at customer's facility, engineering for customer prototypes, troubleshooting both internal and external issues related to film performance and equipment. I was also responsible for new technology information which includes both learning and delivery, working closely with all sales staff as Engineering support & technical sales, and presenting new products & innovations to existing & potential customers. In 2020-2021 I had taken the lead role in a new large warehouse expansion, construction and warehouse setup. During the last couple of years in role as Product Development / Special Projects Manager I was asked to take a lead roll some important internal projects such as Scrap Reduction with over 70% reduction accomplishment. Other projects I have taken lead role in are Static reduction, oversee new equipment installations, and multiple quality improvement projects. In my current role as Director of Operations I am privileged to work with a great team across the entire plant and office. The past year has been both challenging and rewarding, I look forward to the future as we strive to make the Edmonton Plant the best it has ever been.
