About Bob Bemis

My pursuit of a life in public service began with an enlistment in the United States Marine Corps. After completion of Military Police training, I was selected to serve in executive level security assignments with the U.S. Presidential Helicopter Squadron and in the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon. At the conclusion of my active military service, I enlisted with the Pennsylvania State Police and served in a variety of assignments in patrol and criminal investigation at several stations across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Opportunities to fill leadership roles followed, and I eventually accepted a position as a Supervisor of Advanced Training at the Pennsylvania State Police Academy. I have always had a strong interest in teaching that began in the Marines, and continued throughout my service with the state police, specializing in subjects related to officer safety, physical fitness and self-defense. Following my retirement from the state police, I joined the team at Wrap Technologies as Director of Training for Wrap Reality, a next-generation, virtual reality training simulator for law enforcement. In addition to traditional roles in service, I've also enjoyed contributing as an advocate, writer and public speaker, sharing my personal experiences and insights to audiences across the United States and as author of the book, Forged in Scars & Stripes: A Trooper's Victory Over Critical Injury.
