About Bob Blanchard

My name is Bob Blanchard and I have enjoyed a well-rounded career journey here at UnitedHealth Group. My first position with the company was in UHC operations where I built a solid business foundation in billing, collections, and financial accounting. I later learned about database design and basic coding with Optum Tech and then put my acquired skills to use by improving business processes as a six sigma black belt. I played a significant role in financial data management for our UHC Finance Controllership organization that leveraged my business process and technical expertise. I continued to expand my leadership in Optum Technology, leveraging my skillset and foundational experience to organize, seek efficiencies, and drive business strategy by accelerating technology advances. More recently, I moved back into our core UHC Operations, driving our Paper Free and Digital experiences. I have many professional credentials, highlighted by certifications as a Six Sigma Black Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP), and Agile Product Ownership. I graduated from Brandeis University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, earned my Master of Business Administration in Health Care degree from the University of St. Thomas, Opus College of Business. My hobbies include outdoor activities, gardening, hunting, fishing, hiking, sports, fitness, and small engine repair. I am active in my Church, as Vice President of the Parish Council and Chairman of Building & Grounds committee. I also volunteer often in the community with Riverfront Recapture, FoodShare, UnitedWay, and the local school system.
