ENGINEERING & DESIGN: Protection system design, including armor recipe development and vehicle system integration, for direct fire (kinetic energy) threats, fragmentation devices, explosively formed penetrators, shaped charges and mine blast mitigation. Progressive experience in production design and development to include lean manufacturing, critical path analysis, jig and fixture design, geometric dimension and tolerance limits, as well as specialized equipment manufacturing. OPERATIONAL BUSINESS PARTNER: DES provides cost-effective engineering services for the defense industry, whether agency or privately-held, specializing in survivability, vehicle systems, mechanical engineering and design. Provided design-to-manufacture leadership as well as standardized process development, high strain rate design, and rapid prototyping complete with technical project and program management while managing the daily operations of a Veteran Owned Small Business (VSOB) and Nontraditional Defense Contractor (NDC). RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT: Survivability testing, including live fire test and evaluation with a systems engineering approach, as well as verification, validation and testing support, multi-physics explicit analysis, finite element analysis, and vehicle systems modeling.
