Background
About Bob de Dea
I am a second-generation immigrant, and an ally to the underprivileged and those whose voice has been silenced or stifled for too long. I have been an executive assistant to presidents and VPs, supervised a sales team, managed a law firm on Long Island, produced school assembly programs, acted as president on two Boards of Directors, overseen 18 tellers at the NYC World HQ of Chemical Bank, performed before thousands at Wolf Trap, and written an online weekly financial column that drew over readers. I can do practically anything:) Bob is a writer, composer, actor, and director who did graduate studies in directing and performance at NYU, studied speech and dialects with Milenko Radosavljevich at HB Studio, and was an acting student of the late Uta Hagen. He is currently working on his second children's book, arranging his original music, and writing a monthly newsletter, as well as a Substack column. Bob’s creations include, with Mark Sparks, YA GOT TROUBLE! An Affair with Robert Preston (book); MY FOURTH DIVORCE (book/music/lyrics). With Claire Zaslove, HAND IN HAND. IN HAND. Alone, he has written a panto, RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER; the musical ROBIN HOOD; the musical murder mystery ASHES TO ASHES; and four holiday reviews. Bob is a proud member of The Dramatists Guild of America. Bob's short plays have been featured in several play festivals. He is also the author of HOT SEATS, a full-length play composed of two thematically-related one acts,"The Interrogation" and "An Axe to Grind", and SOME DISTANT DAY. Bob is also working on a collection of science short plays. As a professional actor and member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors' Equity, Bob has been seen as Pecora in THE RECKONING, Hannay in THE 39 STEPS, Felix in THE ODD COUPLE (Bellevue Civic Theatre), Harold in THE FULL MONTY (Village), The Baker in INTO THE WOODS (5th Avenue), Buddy in FOLLIES (Showtunes), Ford in THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR (Wooden O), and as Dame Gepetta in the panto PINOCCHIO (Centerstage). For the past 20 years, Bob has been the tenor/arranger for the a cappella vocal group Kitchen Sync. He is also a prolific songwriter. He can be seen playing his original tunes all over Seattle with his band Schrödinger's Cats.
