About Bob Kaplan

I’m a senior Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering student at Oregon State University focused on mechanical systems design, manufacturing, material science, and aerospace applications. My hands-on experience includes contributing to the AIAA High Altitude Liquid Engine Rocket Team, where I support aerodynamic and recovery system design and testing. I’ve also worked as a Teaching Assistant for a materials science lab, helping students apply concepts through practical instruction and lab work. As a former Student Machinist in OSU’s ILabs, I gained experience operating and maintaining manual and CNC equipment, fabricating custom components, and training peers in safe shop practices as well. I’m proficient in SolidWorks, Siemens NX, MATLAB, and skilled with machining tools and composite manufacturing. I’m driven by problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation. I’m currently seeking full-time opportunities in mechanical or aerospace engineering where I can continue to grow and contribute to impactful projects.
