I am running as a Libertarian for Congress in Texas-21 (Hill Country area, including portions of Bandera, Bexar, Blanco, Comal, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr and Travis counties). Like most of you, I am disgusted with the hyper-partisanship shown by both of the major parties in recent years, which now completely overrides any effort to accomplish just about anything. We are now at $34 trillion in interest-bearing funded national debt, not to mention about $80 trillion in unfunded future entitlement liabilities. Strap yourself in for this fact: the sum of these two liabilities run up by your government amounts to per taxpayer. And growing fast. Yep. Soon each one of us will be $1 million in debt (not counting our mortgages, student loans, car notes and credit cards). Also let this sink in: of the ten most affluent counties in the US (based on median household income), FIVE of them are suburbs of Washington DC. That should piss off everyone in the other 48 states and we all know why it is: Washington DC is ripping us off. So I am running for Congress with the goal of teaching my Hill Country neighbors that there truly IS a third option. An option that chooses freedom from bureaucrats ruling our lives, freedom from the high inflation, high interest rates and high taxation driven by massive uncontrolled deficit spending, and freedom from endless wars on the other side of the globe that do not make us more safe.
