The key to my success has been my ability to gain buy in from internal employees & external clients when implementing change. My track record speaks for itself. I am a change management leader & have led large strategic financial, business initiatives, & financial system implementations. During my tenure with the City of Burnaby I was a key champion in the conversion of a 25 year old financial system into an SAP system & supported the staff in implementing the change. I was able to keep staff morale high & we succeeded in moving to the new system with minimal loss of time on the day to day operations & minimal staff turnover. I believe people are the key to the success of any organization & working as a team we can achieve great things. As Deputy Director Finance for City of Burnaby, I am the financial subject matter expert & act as a bridge between technology, finance & functional areas. This role combined with my previous one as Senior Internal Auditor have provided me with an in depth understanding of all operational areas within the city. I am knowledgeable in all financial business processes & procedures in relation to payroll, accounting, financial planning, revenue services, treasury, internal audit & purchasing functions. Extensive experience in reviewing and preparing city financial statements in accordance to PSAB & GAAP principles.
