About Bob MacDonald

I have over 38 years of construction experience in both the field and the office. I started in residential construction working on block laying, rough carpentry, roofing, siding, deck building etc. from the age of 16 to 22 years old. My career in the electrical industry started in South Carolina in 1992 working in the field and offices installing, estimating and assistant project management for Gregory Electrical and Cullum Mechanical before returning home to West Seneca, NY in 1997. My electrical estimating and management career continued while working for IPL Electrical and CIR Electrical in Western New York before starting my own electrical business. My electrical construction company was formed in 2003 under the DBA of RAM Electrical Construction and then was incorporated under the name of MacDonald Electrical Construction Corp.(MECC) in 2006. MECC was closed in 2017 due to personal reasons and I went back to work as a project manager and estimator. Bison Electrical hired me as a project manager and estimator for a short time before returning to CIR Electrical Construction and then I was hired by The State Group Industrial in 2021 as a Senior Electrical Estimator. Currently my role at The State Group is Project Management and Estimating multi trade projects at the GM Plant in Rochester NY. The projects consist of everything from installation of process equipment to renovations of the buildings and utilities. I still hold master electrician’s licenses in Buffalo, West Seneca and Amherst in New York and have held licenses in other municipalities.
