Curiosity and a passion for learning drew me to science, and I am fortunate to have found a career that offers so many opportunities to learn new things. My fascination with how things work naturally attracted me to physiology, and I have spent the last 15 years or so absorbed in the molecular workings cellular receptors and enzymes (particularly in the fields of neuropharmacology and molecular toxicology). I find interpreting and synthesizing new results in the context of existing information to be a rewarding mental exercise and I enjoy scientific writing.
