About Bob Mroz

Bob is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a double Major in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Computer Science. Bob spent 30 years with the Federal Communications Commission. He was a field agent for 5 years out of the Baltimore District office; was Acting Chief of the Inspections Branch of the FCC Field Enforcement Bureau in FCC HQ in Washington, DC; was appointed Engineer-in-Charge, then District Director for the MD-DC-VA-WV-DE district for 19 years; and was Chief of the FCC's Advanced Technologies Group for 3 years. His work at the FCC included development of High Definition TV specs, Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) and Bluetooth systems, development of the Mobile Automatic Direction Finder system used in the field today, and he was responsible for the airlines' statement to turn off all equipment during takeoff and landing. Bob retired in 1997. Bob founded HY-TEK, Ltd. in 1978 while still at the FCC, developing software for the automation of competitive swimming and track & field results - now required at all sanctioned meets worldwide - and he created FIREARMS MANAGER Pro, a professional Firearms Training Management software used by thousands of federal, state, local and military organizations around the world. Bob sold his HY-TEK Sports Software Division in 2008 but retains HY-TEK, Ltd. for marketing of his Firearms Management software and other activities. He founded HY-TEK Bio, LLC in 2009 to market a clean energy technology he developed that allows the use of fossil fuels without Greenhouse Gas emissions. This clean energy technology has been in industrial scale operation at a power plant in Baltimore since 2012, and will soon be installed at a power plant on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and at a landfill power plant in the Baltimore area. Bob teaches at the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Convention each year, and is called upon to give talks on his clean energy technology on a regular basis.
